What to expect during a psychotherapy session!
You are likely to meet your psychotherapist once per week usually at the same time and place. Sessions usually last about 45 to 60 minutes, you will be encouraged to talk openly and freely about your concerns. Your therapist will give you their undivided attention along with their honest insights into your situation in order to help you better understand it so that you can both explore new ways of coping.
Like all therapies the the client must want to participate in the process of psychotherapy. To increase the chances of success the client should attend all appointments as set, always be honest and be willing to engage fully.
You will not be judged or ridiculed for what you are bringing to the therapy session, but simply supported and encouraged to explore things further.
